Is honesty the best policy?

Why do people lie?

Truth, the Whole Truth, Nothing But the Truth?
Taking care of appearance and styling should not be confused with (dis)honesty. Dishonesty in this regard could be associated with hypocrisy -it would be pretending to be someone we are not, maybe acting polite on the first date when in fact we are not, and things like that. Make-up is very visible and shows our honest decision to make ourselves prettier - because we don't feel pretty enough, or because we want to show the other person we have put an effort in making ourselves prettier for him. Lets start with women. Most of them use make-up. Therefore, in a way they are dishonest about their real appearance. Is it working? Would men like them more if they didn't use make-up? You are gonna be so bad at sex the first time that you don't wanna have sex with someone you like, 'cause they'll think you're a weirdo for being so lame at it. So you wanna have sex with "hood rats" so that by the time you get to a girl that you do like, you won't be terrible at sex, you'll be mediocre at it. Probably still pretty bad, though.[1] In seduction, honesty is not the best policy. A man learns from experience to conceal some of what he is thinking because no matter how much a woman says she wants to know his true feelings, she would rather not. ... Now I don’t advocate lying. There is a middle ground between complete candor and bald-faced lies. Massaging the truth is the best way to describe it. The fact is, there would be very little hooking up at all if men decided en masse to be totally honest with women. [2]Is honesty the best policy?
