you are exactly right. hypocrisy is a flaw in human character that can be avoided if chosen to be. — jesus christThe simple answer is of course, yes! One single example is ; Corporate and political greed and desire for power is the reason for most of the suffering as claimed by many. It is certain that most if not all who make this claim are the benefactors of both whether it be in the use of their products or the recipients of their benefits. Anther quick example would be members of PETA, it is practically impossible not to utilize some product derived from an animal. Not due to malice just a fact of life if we believe in something, enough to regret not living up to it, aren't we being hypocrites, to our own self.People tend to use hypocrisy as an excuse for not listening to advice. If the statements are helpful then they should be used, regardless of the person which said them. Is God hypocritical? If God is Holy and we are made of His image, how can hypocrisy be of human nature, but rather it is of sinful nature In other words, is hypocrisy a human nature?
Lets look at the more general question: is lying a part of human nature? Nothing is more unjust, however common, than to charge with hypocrisy him that expresses zeal for those virtues which he neglects to practise; since he may be sincerely convinced of the advantages of conquering his passions, without having yet obtained the victory, as a man may be confident of the advantages of a voyage, or a journey, without having courage or industry to undertake it, and may honestly recommend to others, those attempts which he neglects himself. [1] Not living up to our beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards is not a hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is pretending (and lying to others) to have them when we don't. The more idealistic we are with our principles, the more vulnerable we are to hypocrisy. Should we be less idealistic to avoid being hypocrites, or should we hold onto our ideals, even if we can't always live up to them? Is hypocrisy a natural human flaw?
