Yes criticism can be abusive without the correct leveling. Abuse I define as standing in front of or stopping the progression of the souls creativity and ideas. It's important to note that parents are trying to help, but most don't understand the effect of their thoughtless comments. If the first comment is negative it can crush the seedling ideas. The answer is to ask politely for a shit sandwich. Say something nice, make the criticism which will work now, then make a positive comment. Helpthe That's what every parent does, my dear.
